NEW ART SHOW IN WORKS. LOOK FOR IT ON OCTOBER’S FIRST THURSDAY!
CESAR A. EVANS
We filter through life at different paces
We never quite know what will be found
around the corner
I never intended on moving to Portland.
I never thought I’d graduate Le Cordon Bleu
I never envisioned sleeping out in the rain ;
abandoned office buildings,
wet cement, & outdoortunnels & overhangs
The art forms I contrive today
are a product of refusing to die;
Not just that of a physical death – quite
literally, as in suicide
or catastrophe – but that of the soul, the mind, & the heart
The gestural natural of my marks
connotes the haste of life at times
and the speed of which it passes.
The materials are all found;
that which was discarded
abandoned or had the hope
flushed out of them…
& then returned.
Restored. Healed. In a sense, re-born
When we forgive & choose to live forward
We are doing ourselves the best service:
&maybe a shot at peace.
